This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs what is and is not permitted on the SplatChat platform. It applies to all users of the Service, including free and paid subscribers, API users, Meeting Bot operators, and character creators. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP constitutes a violation of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension or termination of your account.
We designed SplatChat to enable meaningful, safe, and engaging interactions between people and AI characters. This AUP exists to protect our users, protect third parties, comply with applicable law, and preserve the integrity of the platform.
You may not create, upload, transmit, generate, or facilitate the creation or transmission of content that:
The Meeting Bot feature allows AI characters to join and participate in live meetings. Because meeting bots process audio from all participants — not just the user who deployed the bot — specific conduct requirements apply. Violations of this section may constitute unlawful wiretapping, eavesdropping, or electronic surveillance and may expose you to civil and criminal liability.
When you connect third-party services (such as Linear, HubSpot, Gmail, Outlook, Salesforce, or Pipedrive) to your account, AI characters and Meeting Bots can take actions within those services. The following conduct requirements apply.
You may not use the Service in violation of applicable export control laws, regulations, or sanctions, including those administered by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). You may not access or use the Service from a jurisdiction subject to a comprehensive U.S. government trade embargo (including, as of the date of this AUP, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and Crimea), or if you are on any U.S. government denied-party list.
We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. We may, at our sole discretion:
We may take action with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the violation. We are not obligated to monitor all content on the Service but may do so to detect and address violations.
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, contact us at legal@splatchat.com.
If you encounter content or conduct that violates this AUP, please report it to us:
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced via our website or by email. The current version is always at splatchat.com/aup. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised AUP.
7. Social Media and Third-Party API Tools
The SplatChat MCP server and Developer API expose tools that can interact with social media platforms and other third-party services on your behalf, including posting content, replying, following, liking, sending messages, and performing searches on platforms such as X (Twitter). The following conduct requirements apply to all such use.
